OBJECTIVES

  1. Encourage the exploration of Italy’s rich and diverse cultural and environmental heritage, including its UNESCO tangible and non-tangible heritage (such as the Italian cooking and the Mediterranean cuisine) and its National and Regional Parks (such as the “Coast of the Gods” area)
  2. Understanding principles, methods and tools to implement STEAM, Outdoor and Cultural education in relation to Well-Being
  3. Celebrate, understand and protect the unique value of cultural and environmental heritage
  4. Acquiring non-formal education methods and tools to foster students’ exploration, studying and representation of the cultural and environmental heritage, as well as to foster their well-being
  5.  Exploring different outdoor education methods and tools
  6. Fostering different creative languages and improving the usage of digital tools
  7. Stimulating reflection and innovative ideas for a sustainable development of our cultural and environmental heritage.

PROGRAMME

Day 1: Welcome

Presentation of the course and participants  
Brainstorming and team building  
Practical laboratory of observation and study of the cultural heritage (art and architecture) through non-formal education methods and tools  

Day 2: Intangible cultural heritage

Practical laboratory of observation and study of the cultural heritage (traditions and craftsmanship) through non-formal education methods and tools  
Story-telling through web and digital tools  

Day 3: Nature and/is Culture

Guided laboratory of observation and study of the environmental heritage through non-formal education methods and tools  
- What is the cultural heritage? What can be done to protect and promote our cultural and environmental heritage?  
Story-telling through different creative languages and digital tools  

Day 4: Environmental heritage

Guided laboratory of observation and study of the environmental heritage through non-formal education methods and tools  
Story-telling through different creative languages and digital tools  

Day 5: UNESCO diet&cooking

Visit to a significant local school and talk with its relevant staff (upon availability). When this is not available: presentation of the hosting Country educational system  
UNESCO Italian cuisine and UNESCO Mediterranean diet cooking class  
Common meal: much more than eating!  
Creative story-telling: presentations of works  
Course evaluation  
Releasing of official course certifications
